MEN’S FOOTBALL: Sao Paulo’s Palmeiras thumped Peruvians Sporting Cristal 6-0 to qualify with the only 100 per cent record from the Copa Libertadores group stages.

Joining them in the last 16 of South America’s equivalent to the Champions League are holders Botofogo, Argentina’s four-time winners River Plate and Estudiantes and 2022’s champions Flamengo. Brazilian clubs have won the competition for the last six seasons.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Jalen Brunson netted 32 points as the New York Knicks beat Indiana 111-94 on Friday morning to remain in the NBA’s Eastern Conference final, cutting Indiana’s lead to 3-2 with game six on Sunday.

The winners will meet Oklahoma City in the best-of-seven finals series after they brushed aside Minnesota 4-1.

Neither Indiana or Oklahoma have won the Larry O’Brien before, the Knicks were last NBA champions in 1973.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: The final round of English Premiership matches kick off on Saturday with Bath already confirmed as regular season champions and Leicester needing one point against bottom club Newcastle to finish as runners-up.

Sale must pick up two points against Exeter to claim third place while Bristol need to beat Harlequins to guarantee their play-off place. Any slip-ups and either Saracens or Gloucester can climb into the top four.

MEN’S DARTS: Luke Humphries beat Luke Littler 11-8 in the final to lift the Premier League trophy on Thursday night in London.

Littler had to come from behind to beat Gerwyn Price 10-7 in his semi-final while Humphries saw off Nathan Aspinall by the same score.

Humphries had finished second behind the world champion by 11 points during the 17-week regular season and threw 68 fewer 180s throughout the competition.
