Previous leaders Ipswich Witches slipped into second place as they suffered their first home defeat of the season, going down 43-47 to Leicester with Luke Becker bagging 12+1 points and Max Fricke weighing in with 8+2 for the east Midlanders.
MEN’S FOOTBALL: Three domestic European cups are up for grabs on Saturday with Aberdeen taking on Scottish Cup holders Celtic before Arminia Bielefeld from the third tier of German football face Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final. Coupe de France holders and fifteen-time winners Paris St Germain are up against Reims in the late evening kick off. PSG finished 53 points ahead of Reims as they stormed to the Ligue One title.
NETBALL: With table-toppers London Pulse not in action until Sunday’s match with Birmingham, defending champions Loughborough can climb to the summit of the Super League with a win over bottom club Cardiff Dragons this evening. The Dragons slumped to a ninth defeat in 10 games with a 56-62 loss to Birmingham in midweek. London Mavericks play Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon and Leeds host Manchester on Sunday.
MEN’S DARTS: Luke Littler beat Luke Humphries 6-3 in the final of Thursday night’s concluding round of the Premier League. Littler’s record-breaking sixth win of the season saw him top table by a massive 11 points from Humphries with Nathan Aspinall a further 8 points back in third and Gerwyn Price fourth. Michael van Gerwen failed to qualify for next week’s finals in London after losing 6-2 to Aspinall in their opening match.
