SPEEDWAY: Super League table-toppers Ipswich Witches got back to winning ways after leading from the first tape to earn a 49-41 victory at bottom club Birmingham on Monday night.

Dan Bewley top-scored with 13+1 as Belle Vue thumped Leicester 52-38 to remain a point off the pace in second and Lewis Kerr bagged a huge 16+1 riding at number six in third-placed Sheffield’s comfortable 57-33 win at King’s Lynn.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Oklahoma City will host Minnesota in the first leg of their best of seven NBA Western conference final tomorrow morning after they squeezed past 2023’s champions Denver with a 4-3 semi-final victory.

Oklahoma finished the regular season with 19 more wins than Minnesota. In the east, Indiana face the New York Knicks, who bagged a shock 4-2 success over last year’s winners Boston, for a place in the final.

MEN’S CRICKET: Nottinghamshire’s lead in the County Championship division one is down to just three points after they suffered a seven-wicket defeat at Durham on Monday.

Defending champions Surrey moved into second place and maintained the league’s only unbeaten record after medium pacer Jordan Clark took match figures of 7-76 in their comfortable innings and 28 run win over Yorkshire at the Oval.

HORSE RACING: Four-time champion jockey Oisin Murphy nailed the first four past the post at Windsor on Monday evening to open up a five-win lead at the top of this year’s title race.

He piloted favourites Nogo’s Dream and Rising Empire in the first two races before steering home Blue Bolt, Regal Envoy and then finishing third on Fast Steps in his only other ride at the meeting.
