Makhmour refugee camp

TURKEY was accused today of being behind a bomb blast that killed two children at a refugee camp in Iraqi Kurdistan earlier this week.

The explosion took place in the Zakho district of Duhok province on Monday during a high-profile visit to the region by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Mr Macron had previously attended an international security summit in the Iraqi capital Baghdad along with representatives of Egypt, Jordan and Turkey.
