Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns burning of party buildings by government supporters
CPI-M members protest in Odisha

PROTESTS took place across India today after “fascistic” arson attacks on offices of the Communist Parry of India–Marxist (CPI-M) left thousands of people injured.

General secretary Sitaram Yechury condemned the actions of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura state, insisting that it “shall be resisted and defeated.”

He said: “Thousands of party workers were injured and party properties destroyed, including the houses of party leaders,” in the attacks, which started on Wednesday.
