WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Glasgow City are still a point clear in the Scottish Women’s Premier League after they stuffed Spartans 6-0 and second-placed Rangers came from behind to brush aside bottom club Dundee United 6-1. Hearts won 2-0 at Aberdeen, defending champions Celtic beat Montrose 5-1, Hibs drew 1-1 with Partick Thistle and a Louisa Boyes hat-trick helped Motherwell to a comfortable 6-1 victory over Queen’s Park.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Last year’s champions London Lions are still anchored to the bottom of the Super League after they went down heavily 48-88 at home to Nottingham. Tierra Hodges top-scored with 24 points as Newcastle saw off Manchester 88-78, struggling Cardiff Met lost out 75-38 at Caledonia and Oaklands maintained their 100 per cent record with a 69-54 win in Leicester. Unbeaten table-toppers Sheffield were not in action.

MEN’S CRICKET: Zimbabwe meet Pakistan in the second of their three-match one day series at Bulawayo tomorrow morning after winning the first rain-affected game by 80 runs on the Duckworth, Lewis, Stern method. Chasing Zimbabwe’s 205 all out Pakistan were already struggling at 60-6, with Blessing Muzarabani taking 2-9 from five overs, when torrential rain, thunder and lightning brought the game to a close.
