MEN’S FOOTBALL: Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Porto has ensured that there will again be five English Premier League teams in next year’s Champions League.

Liverpool currently sit fifth in the Premier League, a point ahead of Chelsea with both Brentford and Everton two points further back.

All nine English teams in Europe this season reached the last 16 of their competitions although only five are in the quarter-finals.

MEN’S GOLF: America’s John Keefer and China’s Haotong Li will officially tee off this year’s US Masters tournament tomorrow after six-time winner Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson have all hit ceremonial opening drives.

Defending champion Rory McIlroy partners US amateur champion Mason Howell and Cameron Young before three-time runner-up Justin Rose plays with 2015 champion Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: 37-year-old Courtney Lawes will leave Brive and return to the Premier League next season after signing for Sale.

Lawes won 105 caps for England, five for the British and Irish Lions, has been part of three Six Nations championship winning squads and won two Premier League titles with Northampton.

He was also a member of the England team that lost out 32-12 to South Africa in 2019’s World Cup final.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Matthew Shevlin scored twice as third-placed Coleraine stormed to a 4-1 win at Irish Premiership leaders Larne on Tuesday.

Glentoran in second are now just three points off the top after they won 2-1 at Cliftonville. Ballymena drew 1-1 with Glenavon, Dungannon went down 3-1 at home to Linfield, Portadown drew 1-1 with Carrick and bottom of the table Crusaders grabbed a stoppage-time equaliser to draw 1-1 with Bangor.
