WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Manchester City gained a measure of revenge for last weekend’s Super League defeat when they edged out neighbours United 2-1 in Wednesday’s League Cup quarter-final tie.

They will face Arsenal in the last four after the holders produced a dominant second-half display to brush aside Brighton 5-0.

West Ham won 2-1 at Tottenham to set up the other semi-final with Chelsea, who saw off Durham 5-0.
