MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Reigning champions Wigan ran in eight tries to overwhelm Warrington 48-24 in their Super League fixture at Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium on Saturday night. 

In the women’s international that followed, England suffered a record 90-4 mauling by world champions Australia. 

Watched by a crowd of over 45,000 the one-off event also included NRL champions Penrith beating Cronulla 28-22 and Canberra’s 30-8 win over the New Zealand Warriors.

MEN’S BOXING: Southampton’s Ryan Garner extended his unbeaten record to 17 fights after comfortably out-pointing Spain’s Salvador Jiminez to retain his WBC international super-flyweight belt and claim the vacant European title. 

Saturday’s WBA lightweight title bout between champion Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach in Brooklyn ended in a draw, while Alberto Puello beat Sandor Martin on points to retain his WBC light-welterweight crown.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Leinster continued their unbeaten United Rugby Championship campaign with a bonus point 42-24 win over Cardiff as second-placed Glasgow slipped to a last kick 32-31 home defeat by the Ospreys. 

Ulster edged out the Scarlets 30-28, Connacht beat Treviso 38-30, the Sharks lost 38-14 in Johannesburg to the Lions, Edinburgh beat Munster 34-28 and Cape Town’s Stormers beat the Bulls 19-16. 

Bottom club Newport lost 31-21 at second bottom Zebre.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Glen Taylor scored twice as the National League North’s Spennymoor Town earned a 2-0 win at Sutton United to make it into Monday’s FA Trophy semi final draw. 

Three-time winners Woking squeezed past Oxford City on penalties after a 2-2 draw to make the last four, Aldershot won 3-0 at non-league minnows Sittingbourne and goals from on-loan Jay Bird and Tarryn Allarakhla steered Rochdale to a 2-0 victory over Altrincham.
