Other highlights include Tottenham at Hoffenheim, table-topping Lazio taking on Real Sociedad, unbeaten Anderlecht’s trip to Viktoria Plzen, Qarabag facing 1986’s European Cup winners Steaua Bucharest and last year’s finalists Roma visiting AZ Alkmaar.

MEN’S CRICKET: Hobart Hurricanes preserved their unbeaten home record and cruised through to Monday’s final of Australia’s Big Bash competition with a 12-run win over the Sydney Sixers on Tuesday. Chasing 174 the Sixers collapsed to 5-3 before Kurtis Patterson clubbed 48 from 33 balls and Jordan Silk top-scored with 57 as they reached 161-5. England’s Chris Jordan bowled the last over of the game and finished with 0-30 from four overs.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Adam Radwan has left Newcastle in mid-season after nine years with the club to join Premiership rivals Leicester. The 27 year old Osmotherly-born winger scored 59 tries in 128 appearances for the north-easterners and also gained two England caps in 2021. Newcastle currently sit bottom of the Premiership with two wins from their opening ten games while Leicester are fourth, eight points behind leaders Bath.
