Cuban sugar workers condemn US blockades

CUBAN sugar agro-industry workers have condemned US blockades for “choking” the people’s economy.

Association of Cuban Sugar Technicians (ATAC) president Eduardo Lamadrid Martinez warned on Thursday that economic, financial and commercial blockades against Cuba by the US were becoming “more dramatic.”

“On behalf of the more than 10,600 technicians and scientists of the sector, we condemn this unjust policy that tries to choke us economically,” Mr Lamadrid Martinez said.
