A RIGHT-WING former member of Labour’s ruling body who allegedly encouraged a smear campaign against a left rival has been chosen for Sir Keir Starmer’s “future candidates programme.”
Jasmin Beckett, who was elected Labour First’s youth rep on the party’s national executive committee in a bitterly fought campaign in 2016, confirmed the news in a tweet on Thursday.
The programme, now open to brand new party members who wish to stand for election as a Labour MP, has been slammed by the left as Sir Keir’s “patsy pipeline” which will produce handpicked MPs with no link to grassroots members.
