Trade unions need to step up and force a turn in the policies of the labour movement to effectively confront the far-right threat, argues NICK WRIGHT
The international solidarity shown to journalists, particularly women who have lost their jobs and faced threats from Taliban fighters, has made me even more proud to be a member of the National Union of Journalists.
Our international body, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), has played a superb role in pressuring governments to take action to protect Afghan journalists and used its safety fund to assist those in dire financial straits.
