MEN’S CRICKET: The Under-19s World Cup super six stage starts tomorrow with unbeaten India, the current champions, taking on New Zealand in Bloemfontein. This morning’s other games see Sri Lanka play the West Indies and Pakistan defend their 100 per cent record against Ireland before England face Australia tomorrow. Scotland did not qualify for the Super Six after failing to win a game in the group stages.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Rangers maintained their unbeaten record and moved six points clear in the Scottish Women’s Premier League after they won 2-1 in Aberdeen and second-placed Celtic lost out 1-0 at Glasgow City. Bottom club Hamilton claimed their first win of the season in a 4-1 romp at Dundee United, Hearts edged out Spartans 1-0, Hibs thumped Motherwell 5-0 and Partick came from behind to beat Montrose 2-1.

NETBALL: Player of the match Sophie Garbin scored 31 goals from 32 attempts as reigning world champions Australia crushed England 69-49 in the final of the Nations Cup in Leeds on Sunday evening. The winning margin was even bigger than when the Aussies beat the English Roses by 16 points in the 2022 World Cup final. New Zealand saw off Uganda 62-57 in the third place play-off match.

CYCLING: Alejandro Osorio, who does not currently ride for a World Tour team, was the surprise winner of Colombia’s national road race title on Sunday. After being part of the early breakaway, Osorio survived to finish four seconds ahead of Sergio Higuita with 2020 Tour de France Winner Egan Bernal in third. Last year’s winner Estaban Chavez was nearly six minutes behind in 27th place, alongside Nairo Quintana and Danny Martinez.
