NETBALL: Manchester Thunder still top the Super League on points difference after they swotted aside Team Bath 79-42 and second-placed Loughborough romped to a 72-36 win at bottom of the table Strathclyde.

Sigrid Burger shot 52 goals as the Severn Stars held on to edge out Leeds 58-56, London Pulse won 52-37 in Cardiff and Leeds Rhinos claimed just their second win of the season after holding off Surrey 64-60.

CYCLING: Mathieu van der Poel attacked on the wet and slippery Koppenberg cobbles to win his third Tour of Flanders and the €20,000 (£17,000) first-prize money on Sunday afternoon.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: British ice hockey’s popularity continues to grow after the sell-out crowd for Dundee’s 5-1 win at Glasgow took total attendance figures in the Elite League to over a million for the second successive season.

With 22 games still to be played before the play-offs start, this is sure to be a record-breaking season. Crowds have increased by 73 per cent since 2010, the largest rise in any of the European leagues.
