Pontypridd go down with Colwyn Bay, despite their 1-0 win over Barry Town. Caernarfon drew 2-2 with Bala, Newtown won 3-1 at Cardiff Met and champions The New Saints saw off Connah’s Quay 2-0 to finish the season unbeaten and a staggering 33 points clear at the top.
WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Murphy Agnew scored a hat-trick as Celtic thumped Hearts 5-0 at Parkhead to stay two points clear in the Scottish Women’s Premier League from Rangers, who left it late to win 3-1 at Partick. Third-placed reigning champions Glasgow City eked out a 1-0 victory at Hibs, Aberdeen romped to a 5-1 win at bottom club Dundee United, struggling Hamilton lost 3-0 to Spartans and in-form Motherwell won 2-1 against Montrose.
MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Sheffield Steelers beat reigning champions Belfast Giants 3-1 in Sunday’s Premiership play-off final to claim a Grand Slam that underlined their current domination of British Ice Hockey. They were runaway winners of the regular season title, finishing 14 points ahead of Cardiff, and also picked up the Challenge Cup to match Belfast’s treble from last year. Cardiff saw off Guildford 7-5 to take third place.
WOMEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Carrie Roberts scored a 78th minute try as last year’s Grand Final winners York Valkyrie came from behind to win 20-16 at St Helens on the opening weekend of the new Super League season. Last year’s Grand Final and Challenge Cup runners-up Leeds had kicked off proceedings by thrashing Huddersfield 66-4, Wigan beat newly promoted Barrow 18-4 and Warrington held off new-girls Featherstone 34-28 on Sunday afternoon.
