WOMEN’S RUGBY UNION: Gloucester-Hartpury moved within a point of Women’s Premiership league leaders Saracens, with a game in hand, after Kelsey Jones bagged a hat-trick in their 24-15 win over the north-west Londoners. Bristol beat Harlequins 26-7, Loughborough saw off Ealing 45-24 and Leah Bartlett’s late try sealed bottom-club Leicester’s first win of the season as they edged out Sale 22-19 on Sunday.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Palestine head into their last Asian Cup Group C game tomorrow afternoon needing to secure a win over Hong Kong and hope that results elsewhere go in their favour if they are to make it through to the last 16. Tomorrow’s other fixtures see already qualified Iran play the United Arab Emirates in Group C, Australia putting their 100 per cent record up against Uzbekistan and Syria taking on India in Group B.

NETBALL: Sophie Garbin netted 26 goals from 27 shots as world champions Australia came from behind in the final quarter to beat Britain 61-59 at Wembley in the Netball Nations Cup on Sunday evening. Britain will next face New Zealand, who lost out 63-50 to the Australians on Saturday, to see who will play the world’s number ones again in next weekend’s tournament final in Leeds.
