WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Rangers beat Hearts 3-0 on Wednesday evening to move level on points with Celtic at the top of the Premier League.

The Celts had earlier been held to a 2-2 draw by reigning champions Glasgow City. With four games to go Celtic have a vastly superior goal difference but the two teams will meet in an effective championship decider at Cumbernauld’s Broadwood stadium on bank holiday Monday.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: British Basketball League champions London Lions take an 80-65 lead into the second leg of their play-off quarter final at Surrey tomorrow evening.

Surrey had finished a whopping 38 points below London in eighth place during the regular season.

Tonight’s other play-offs see Cheshire defending a narrow 91-90 in Bristol and Newcastle up 97-78 on Caledonia. Leicester take an 84-81 advantage over Sheffield into tomorrow’s game.

MEN’S CRICKET: Bangladesh begin a five match Twenty20 series against Zimbabwe in Chittagong tomorrow as they continue their preparations for this summer’s World Cup.

The Bangladeshis are currently ranked as the world’s ninth-best short-format team, three places above Zimbabwe, but boast the world’s best all-rounder Shakib al-Hasan in their squad.

Zimbabwe did not qualify for the World Cup which begins in Dallas on June 1.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: Captain Grace Scrivens hit an unbeaten 118 as the Sunrisers beat Central Sparks by five wickets to move top of the Rachel Heyhoe Flint trophy table.

Previous leaders South East Stars lost their unbeaten record after an eight-run Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) defeat at Western Storm while reigning champions the Southern Vipers beat Lancashire Thunder by three wickets and the Blaze edged out the Northern Diamonds by two wickets.
