CLIMATE activists have staged a mock profits party outside Shell’s London headquarters in protest against the oil giant raking in billions of pounds from fossil fuels last year.
Fossil Free London’s demonstration took place in the City of London on Wednesday as the company publised its final quarterly profits for 2025.
Despite a downturn in its performance last year, widely thought to be the result of falling oil prices, the firm still made billions of pounds, with shareholders receiving a 4 per cent increase in dividends and £3.5 billion in share buybacks.
Fossil Free London director Robin Wells said: “Shell are making a killing, in more ways than one.
“Big oil drives death, disaster and global hunger. The UK may not have enough food to feed the population if climate breakdown continues at pace.
“It’s time to make Shell pay for the devastation they’ve caused and ditch deadly fossil fuels for good.”
