Labour to force vote requiring ministers hand over Carillion risk assessments

LABOUR will force a binding vote on the Tories tomorrow to get ministers to hand over risk assessments relating to their use of collapsed contracting firm Carillion.

The vote will cover documents for all of the government’s “strategic suppliers” whose poor business performance could have huge impacts on the public sector and costs to the taxpayer.

Labour’s motion will use the same ancient but effective parliamentary procedure that was used to force the government to produce the Brexit impact assessments.
