Trump rages under impeachment pressure

US PRESIDENT Donald Trump publicly raged at the Democrats’ “bullshit” impeachment inquiry as the opposition escalated attempts to take him down.

The president accused Democratic Party leaders of dishonesty and treason on Wednesday after they warned the White House to expect a court order demanding documents related to Mr Trump’s dealings with Ukraine.

Democrats have defended the inquiry, which focuses on a phone call in which Mr Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for information on rival Joe Biden and his son Hunter, who obtained a lucrative board position at a Ukrainian firm after the US-backed Maidan coup in the country in 2014 when Mr Biden was vice-president.
