Scots have suffered a ‘devastating’ fall in wages since Tories took power

SCOTS have suffered a “devastating” fall in wages since the Tories came to power at Westminster, with some missing out on almost £6,000 a year, Labour warned today.

The party’s analysis of Office for National Statistics data reveals that take-home pay north of the border has plummeted by 2.3 per cent since 2010, an average drop of £779.

But regional variations mean some are suffering more than others, Labour noted, with the residents of the constituency of Edinburgh South losing a whopping £5,995 per annum, a fall of 14.3 per cent.
