Tesco to face dirty Didcot depot as Atalian Servest caterers and cleaners strike over pay
Unite flag

DIDCOT-BASED Tesco warehouse workers face a “dirty depot and canteen closures” after outsourced cleaners and caterers announced pay strikes, their union Unite warned today.

Some of the staff – employed by contractor Atalian Servest – are paid as little as £10.42 an hour, including weekend and bank holiday work at no additional rate, to service a warehouse which is only heated to one degree, the union said.

It announced two 24-hour walkouts on September 1 and 7, followed by two three-day strikes from the 15-18 and 21-24.
