CLINICAL support workers on the Wirral secured a wage rise and six years of back pay on Thursday, after a long-fought campaign that spanned 61 days of strikes.

Over 600 workers belonging to the Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation will receive a wage rise and back pay to April 2018, according to their union Unison.

Staff at Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals first walked out as part of a campaign to be moved to a different pay band.
