Welsh government must do more to secure Eisteddfod's future, says Plaid Cymru
[Aled LLywelyn]

THE Welsh government must do more to secure the future of a festival that celebrates the culture and language of Wales, Plaid Cymru has said.

The National Eisteddfod, which began this weekend in Boduan, has faced challenges in recent years from Covid-19, Brexit-related changes and the cost-of-living crisis.

Speaking from the festival, Plaid Cymru culture spokeswoman Heledd Fychan said that the event was an important part of Welsh identity and an annual opportunity to champion Welsh as a living modern language.
