OFFICIALS in Venezuela warned today that the US blockade against the South American country is hindering its ability to obtain coronavirus vaccines.
Sanctions imposed by Donald Trump’s administration have effectively blocked Venezuela from the world banking system, limiting the country’s ability to pay for supplies of the AstraZeneca vaccine through the Covax scheme.
Pan American Health Organisation (Paho) spokesman in Venezuela Paolo Balladelli confirmed that Venezuela has access to Covax.
