MEN’S BOXING: Saul “Canelo” Alvarez outpointed previously unbeaten William Scull in an uneventful fight to claim all four super-middleweight titles on this morning in Saudi Arabia.

On the undercar, heavyweight Martin Bakole’s return to the ring after defeat to Joseph Parker ended in a draw with Nigeria’s Efe Ajagba and Badou Jack retained his WBC cruiserweight belt with a majority points decision over Armenian Norair Mikaelian.

SPEEDWAY: New signing Craig Cook will go straight into the Oxford Spires line-up for tomorrow’s Premiership bottom of the table double-header against Birmingham.

Neither team has picked up a point so far this season. It’s second against third as defending champions Belle Vue race Sheffield twice with the first leg in Manchester at noon before this evening’s return at Owlerton.

Unbeaten league leaders Ipswich take on King’s Lynn this afternoon.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Bonnyrigg Rose won 1-0 at Stranraer on the last day of the Scottish League Two season but were relegated on goal difference after fellow strugglers Forfar drew 0-0 with Stirling Albion.

Bonnyrigg have spent just three seasons in the Scottish League since their promotion in 2022. Champions Peterhead were stuffed 6-1 at Clyde, runners up East Fife beat fellow play-off hopefuls Elgin 2-0 and Spartans saw off Edinburgh City 3-1.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: West Hull top the National Conference on points difference after they edged to a 22-18 win at Thatto Heath and second-placed West Bowling beat York Acorn 28-18.

Siddal, two points back in third with a game in hand, saw off Rochdale Mayfield 36-22, out-of-form defending champions Hunslet won 28-18 at Leigh Miners, Lock Lane drew 18-18 with Wath Brow and bottom club Dewsbury Moor lost again, 48-18 at Waterhead.
