More Matriarchal
by Lorraine Voss

She didn’t avtuh work yew know,
he made tha very cleeha.
‘Yew stay ome my love’, he said.
She wanted to be freer,
earn er own money like
an buy er own beer
in pints mun, if she wanted to
and everyone would see er
being equal to er husband
and they wouldn interfere,
coz weem eddin to the future yer,
noh bringing up the rear.

Women from the valleys
never were the second tier!
So raise yewer blinkin glasses girls,
coz more thun equal we are!
