Labour will repair the appalling damage done to our youth services

While the Tories declare we are in the Brexit election, Labour have rightly identified this as the most important election of a generation; not just for our planet and for our NHS, but for our young people.

The deliberate and targeted social injustice young people have faced over the past 10 years is one of the most appalling legacies of the Lib Dem and Tory administrations. The axing of youth services, lumping students and renters with thousands of pounds of debt are all designed to immobilise, suppress and demoralise young people.

The campaign against young people began almost from day one of Cameron’s government. Young people, youth workers and long-standing champions of young people’s rights watched as the government and councils tore away funding, dismantled youth services which for years had supported and advised and young people.
