Despite the adoring support from Elon Musk and Donald Trump, Javier Milei’s radical-right free-market nightmare is unravelling, and the people are beginning to score major victories against the government in the streets and in elections, reports BEN HAYES
BERNADETTE KEAVENEY announces a simplified and streamlined way to get your paper delivered daily, and a big push for new readers that we can all help make into a success

DEAR READER, it has been a while, but that doesn’t mean that the grass has been growing under our feet.
As part of our five-year business plan to increase sales, we have been working with outside agencies to find solutions that may encourage irregular or new readers to buy the print edition daily. From October 29, we will launch a new print subscription service.
Anyone enquiring on our website about buying the print edition will be offered choices. Customers can sign up to receive printed vouchers, which they can use in retail shops or sign up for home news delivery. Customers can use the vouchers to make their own home news delivery arrangements if available through their local shop. Customers choosing a home newspaper delivery subscription will be facilitated, as it is already by NewsTeam.
The change is that the relationship will be between the Morning Star and the customer, not NewsTeam, which is a better dynamic as it allows us to approach the subscriber for any other promotions or offers we might run.
There is an offer for customers taking out a subscription: a 20 per cent discount on the cover price for 13 weeks, decreasing to 10 per cent onwards. All customers will receive access to the premium digital package worth £220. Anyone who cancels a subscription automatically has the digital access cancelled.
This new system is only a tool, but without it, we lagged behind other national titles. This puts us on the same playing field and we intend to publicise widely in print, online and through social media.
We have managed to get this up and running so that, for the first time, we can take part in “home newspaper delivery month” in October, and again we will be promoted by the newspaper industry alongside all national daily titles.
Although we will launch on September 22, our big push will commence at the Labour Party conference with full-page ads in the paper and promotions on social media.
Many of you reading this today may be one of our weekend-only readers. I am hoping this new service will appeal to you. If you belong to one of our readers’ and supporters groups, trades council branches, union branches, or political groups, do get in touch so we can send fliers.
Our challenge is to get over 1,000 new readers. Please promote this initiative, bring it to the attention of your friends, colleagues and family members and let’s get new readers signed up.
