Croatian war criminal downs poison in court
A CROATIAN war criminal died yesterday from poison he drank at the close of the Hague court’s last ever case.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic confirmed Slobodan Praljak's death, saying it reflected the "injustice" against six Bosnian Croats whose guilty verdicts were upheld by the UN’s International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
Praljak shouted "I am not a war criminal!" and drank from a small bottle after Presiding Judge Carmel Agius upheld his 20-year sentence.
