Braverman backs armed policing and orders review after officer charged with Kaba murder

SUELLA BRAVERMAN was accused of seeking to place armed police “above the law” today when she ordered a review in response to an officer being charged with the murder of Chris Kaba.

Ms Braverman announced the review when a large number of Metropolitan Police armed officers handed in weapons and declined to carry out their roles in response to the charge.

The Home Secretary said firearms officers have to make split-second decisions and “mustn’t fear ending up in the dock for carrying out their duties.”
