ST ANNE’S Square in Manchester bustles with people — busy shops and cafes, city centre workers hurrying to and from lunch, shoppers.
It is overlooked by St Anne’s church and a statue of one of the city’s fathers. But it is also home to more than 30 homeless people.
They have pitched tents on the square’s stone flags in protest at being homeless and at Manchester City Council’s failure to get to grips with the city’s homelessness problem.
