Anti-TPP trade deal protesters clash with police
PROTESTERS against a controversial new Pacific trade agreement clashed with police in the Philippines’ capital yesterday.
Demonstrators scuffled with officers as they tried to enter the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (Apec) summit in Manila.
Trade unions, students, farmers, indigenous people and women’s groups oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) pact as a continuation of Apec’s failed free trade model.
