Venezuela hits back at ‘democracy’ slurs
British and Spanish PMs demanded ‘freedom’

VENEZUELA has hit back against unfounded allegations by David Cameron and others that it is stifling democracy.

The Prime Minister cosigned a letter published in Spanish newspaper El Pais on Monday under the emotive headline “Venezuela cries freedom.”

It claims that the run-up to parliamentary elections due on Sunday has been marred by “violence, threats and intimidation of the opposition.”
