NETBALL: The new Super League season starts on Saturday morning with all 10 teams in action at the Nottingham Arena.

The Severn Stars and Leeds Rhinos meet in the day’s first match before reigning champions Loughborough are up against Surrey.

Strathclyde face Team Bath and last year’s runners-up London play Manchester before the renamed Cardiff Dragons take on Saracens. All the games will be televised live on Sky Sports.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Paraguay’s Nacional Asuncion beat Quito-based Aucas 3-0 on Friday to reach the second qualifying stage of the Copa Libertadores, South America’s equivalent of the Champions League.

They will next meet Colombia’s Atletico Nacional while fellow qualifiers Aurora, from Bolivia, been paired with Rio de Janeiro’s Botafogo and Venezuela’s Academia Puerto Cabello will take on three-time Copa winners Nacional from Uruguay.

MEN’S CRICKET: Kane Williamson cemented his place as the top batsman in Test cricket when he hit 133 not out to lead New Zealand to a seven-wicket victory over South Africa  at Seddon Park, Hamilton and sealed their two match series 2-0.

Williamson has now scored seven centuries in his last seven games. Paceman Will O’Rourke finished with match figures of 9-93 on his debut for the Kiwis.

DARTS: Michael van Gerwen beat World Champion Luke Humphries 6-5 in Glasgow on Thursday night to win his second successive round of the Premier League of Darts and move three points clear of Michael Smith at the top of the table.

Peter Wright and Nathan Aspinall are joint bottom having both failed to win a game yet.

The fourth round of this marathon 17-week tournament takes place in Newcastle next Thursday.
