UNITE workers at Sullom Voe oil and gas terminal have ended their dispute after securing a two-year deal boosting jobs, pay and conditions.
Around 30 mechanics, cleaners, plant operators, and electricians employed by Sodexo on site have approved a deal that will see them win an attendance and retention bonus worth up to £1,000 a year, a one-off cost-of-living payment worth up to £1,225 for 2025, and a 4 per cent boost to basic pay backdated to last April.
Welcoming the deal secured after the workers had taken industrial action, Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Sodexo workers at Sullom Voe have secured a good pay win which was only achieved through Unite’s membership remaining strong and resolute throughout the dispute.
“It’s a great example of workers uniting to win better jobs, pay and conditions.”
Unite industrial officer Vic Fraser added: “Unite has successfully resolved the pay dispute with Sodexo down to one simple fact, which is that our members stood firm.
“The dispute at Sullom Voe is now over, and we are pleased our members overwhelmingly backed the improved offer.”
