Arsenal striker Kelly Smith launched a viscous attack yesterday on the defender who nearly ended her career.

Smith suffered a horrific leg break during a match between the Gunners and Sunderland on April 26. Black Cats player Abby Holmes was sent off for the challenge but Smith feels hard done by the tackle which has left her sidelined for the next few months.

“The operation went well and, after two weeks in plaster, then longer in boot and then a process of rehab, I hope to be fit in three to four months time,” she wrote on the Kicca website.
