YOUNG Chavista Ramses Martinez, who was shot while clearing a road block erected by opposition protesters in the Venezuelan city of Barquisimeto, died in hospital at the weekend.
The 20-year-old had been an active member of the Frente Francisco de Miranda (FFM) youth organisation set up by late president Hugo Chavez since he was 16.
“He was with a group of colleagues from the Valle Lindo neighbourhood clearing away the rubbish from one of the barricades by the La Ruezga bridge when they came under fire,” said FFM state director Jose Santeliz.
