Zimbabwe elections to take place in May or June
President declares country ‘open for business’ before he jets off to Davos bosses’ bash

ZIMBABWEAN President Emmerson Mnangagwa said today that elections will be held in May or June following the fall of Robert Mugabe last year.
Mr Mnangagwa had promised to hold a vote following his appointment as interim president by the ruling ZANU-PF party in November, replacing long-term ruler Mr Mugabe.
The state-run Herald newspaper quoted Mr Mnangagwa today as saying: “Zimbabwe is going for elections in four to five months’ time” while on a visit to neighbouring Mozambique.
