A CONFERENCE organised by Solidarity with the People of Turkey (Spot) has called for a Parliamentary debate over an extended state of emergency imposed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Attendees strongly demanded the lifting of Mr Erdogan’s order to restore freedoms of assembly, speech and protest.
The conference, held at the headquarters of the National Education Union in central London, included workshops and panels with trade unionists, politicians, campaigners, journalists and writers from Turkey and Britain who emphasised the importance of solidarity.
