NHS sees surge in suicidal gambling addicts

THE NHS is seeing a surge in suicidal gambling addicts turning up to A&E, health bosses have warned. 

Gambling clinics have seen a 42 per cent rise in demand over the past year, with the NHS accusing betting firms of “predatory tactics.”  

NHS Northern Gambling Service Matt Gaskell told the Times: “People start gambling as soon as they wake up in the morning; they’re gambling in the shower, gambling while they’re driving to work. The NHS is picking up the tab.
