Police raid top Peruvian University after anti-government protests

POLICE raided Peru’s most important public university in Lima on Saturday to evict protesters who were being housed at the campus during huge demonstrations against the government. 

Interior Minister Vicente Romero told reporters that more than 100 people were detained in the raid.

Police used a small tank, helicopters and tear gas to burst into the National University of San Marcos in the morning.
