Nicola Sturgeon’s successor is expected to ask delegates for their help building a “socially just Scotland we can all be proud of.”

THE need for the trade union movement has “never been greater,” new Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf is set to tell the STUC Congress tomorrow.

In a speech on the opening day of the union body’s annual meet-up in Dundee, Nicola Sturgeon’s successor is expected to ask delegates for their help building a “socially just Scotland we can all be proud of.”

Mr Yousaf will also stress that he won the recent SNP leadership contest on a “very clear commitment to progressive politics.”
