Bottom club Huddersfield lost narrowly 32-24 to Warrington. Leigh needed a last-minute drop goal to edge out Featherstone 19-18 and lead Group B by a point from Barrow, 48-6 winners over basement dwellers Castleford. Salford won 38-24 at Bradford to move third.

NETBALL: Mary Cholhok scored 44 goals as Loughborough Lightning came from behind to beat London Pulse 57-48 and clinch the Super League Grand Final on Sunday evening.

WOMEN’S RUGBY UNION: Eilidh Sinclair’s late try edged Exeter past Saracens 24-21 and into the Women’s Premier 15s final for the second year in a row.

The West Country team had lost in last year’s final to Saracens. Their opponents in the grand final will be Gloucester-Hartpury, who finished only one point above Exeter during the regular season and beat Bristol 21-12 to reach their first ever Premier 15s final.

HANDBALL: The West London Eagles won the Women’s National Cup on Sunday evening after coming from behind to beat Olympia London 21-18 at the David Ross Sports Village in Nottingham.

The Eagles were prevented from completing a National Cup double by the North East Manchester Hawks who saw them off 31-23 to claim the silverware in the men’s competition. The Hawks are also the current British Super Cup holders.
