Communist Party of Venezuela says government has ‘outlawed’ it after court orders reconstitution of its leadership
THE Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) has accused the government of “outlawing” it through usurping its legal personality, following a Supreme Court of Justice ruling on Friday.
The court ruled in favour of a petition filed on July 10 which alleged the PCV had “strayed from the precepts that govern the organisation” and its current leadership was thereby illegitimate.
It ordered the appointment of an interim new board of directors tasked with “organising internal democratic processes that guarantee the right to political participation of associates.”
