Reeves must ‘not repeat the mistakes’ of austerity, SNP says

SNP Scottish government’s finance secretary Shona Robison has urged Labour not to “repeat the mistakes” of Tory austerity in next month’s Budget.

Labour chancellor Rachel Reeves will present her party’s first budget since 2009 on October 30.

But despite telling Labour conference on Monday that there would be “no return to austerity,” concerns remain that ongoing rhetoric on “tough decisions” and budget shortfalls signal further cuts.
