THE mother of an eight-year-old girl who died in US Border Patrol custody last week has accused agents of repeatedly ignoring her pleas to send her daughter to hospital.
Agents at a border facility in Harlingen, Texas, said her daughter’s diagnosis of influenza did not require hospital care, Mabel Alvarez Benedicks told journalists on Friday.
“They killed my daughter, because she was nearly a day and a half without being able to breathe,” she said.
