MEN’S FOOTBALL: The Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tournament resumes tomorrow with Namibia playing Zimbabwe behind closed doors in Soweto due to their lack of a suitable stadium for international matches.

Four-time champions Ghana take on Sudan in Group F while 2019’s winners Algeria are up against against Togo in Group E.

Tomorrow’s other fixtures see Cabo Verde host Botswana, Tanzania visit the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burkina Faso face Burundi.

RUGBY LEAGUE: Hull Kingston Rovers half-back Mikey Lewis was named as this season’s Super League player of the year and presented with the Steve Prescott Man of Steel trophy on Tuesday night in Leeds.

York Valkyrie’s full back Georgie Hetherington, who was player of the match in last weekend’s Grand Final win over St Helens, collected the women’s award.

Hull KR face defending champions Wigan in the men’s Grand Final on Saturday.

ICE HOCKEY: Sheffield Steelers are on the verge of reaching the last 16 in the Champions Hockey League after grabbing a point in a 2-1 shoot-out loss against the ZSC Lions in Zurich. That win sealed the Lions’ spot in the knockout stage.

Last year’s runners-up Skelleftea reignited their campaign, after losing to Sheffield in the last round of matches, with a 4-2 victory over winless Hungarian team Fehervar.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Falkirk Fury and St Mirren will join five teams from Basketball England’s Division One as the wildcard entrants in this season’s Super League Cup.

Derby Trailblazers, who reached the semi-final of last year’s BBL Trophy before losing out to eventual winners Caledonia Gladiators, will be joined by the Reading Rockets, Essex Rebels, Nottingham Hoods and Hemel Storm in the first-round draw.
