After winning the first match by 37 runs the second leg in Taunton was abandoned due to rain. England will next face New Zealand for five Twenty20 and three one-day matches as they continue their build up to this year’s Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh.
SPEEDWAY: Steve Worrall top scored with 10+2 points as Birmingham earned a surprise 49-41 over injury hit Ipswich on Monday night. With the two-match aggregate scores level Worrall and Tom Brennan won the super heat race-off to claim a bonus point for the Brummies. In Monday’s other meetings Sheffield won 35-25 after ten heats at a rain-hit Belle Vue and Max Fricke bagged 14+1 points as Leicester brushed aside Oxford 54-36.
MEN’S FOOTBALL: Olympiacos make the short journey to Athens to face Fiorentina in tonight’s Europa Conference League final. The Piraeus-based club are only the second Greek team since Panathinaikos in 1971 to reach a senior Uefa final. Fiorentina are appearing in their second consecutive Conference League final after losing out to West Ham last year. The Italians last won a European trophy in 1969 when they lifted the Cup Winners Cup.
BASKETBALL: Jaylen Brown hit 33 points and Jayson Tatum weighed in with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists as Boston Celtics edged out Indiana 105-102 to complete a 4-0 Eastern Conference series whitewash and reach their second NBA final in three years.
